What I'm Wearing: Big W maternity t-shirt ($9.95) & maternity jeans ($15), necklace from my fairy godmother, boots from my Nana.
So, I actually started today wearing a really pretty boho-style maxi dress. But a nameless person who lives in my uterus somewhat objected to that plan. Our little guy actually makes me nauseous if I wear anything that is too tight on my belly or underbust. If my clothing exerts any pressure at all on my baby belly then I start feeling sick, and I'm forced to change clothes. My theory is that our little dude is in there going, "Come on Mum, sexy cleavage-baring dresses are what got you into this mess in the first place! If you think you're going out dressed like that while I'm in here, you've got another thing coming!". At least he has no objections to my pink maternity jeans yet. YET.
I was looking through some pictures of me from about eight months ago earlier today, and was all like, "Hey, remember that time when I used to have a waist?". It seems like such a distant memory right now! The funny thing is, I've been feeling like my belly is really huge & awkward since about 12-14 weeks, and now I look back on those pictures going, "What were you complaining about, that thing is TINY!". In other news, no one above Kindy age has tried randomly touching my belly yet, so I'm starting to wonder if my chronic bitchface scares people away. Or, maybe at 25 weeks my belly isn't actually impressive enough to touch yet? Whatever the reason, I'm glad people are staying out of my personal space.
How has your week been? Anything exciting to report?
Yay for hot pink jeans! You look happy and sunshiny and beautiful! Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable and lovely. I LOVE those pink jeans!!! :-) So glad to hear that no one has tried to grope your tummy yet- I think that's one of the huge things that would frighten me away from having babies. I don't like to be touched by strangers.
ReplyDeleteAs someone whose never been pregnant, I ***think*** I could handle some little kids touching my belly. They are young and don't know any better so you explain to them why its no longer allowed after the first time.
ReplyDeleteThat being said...one adult that would lay a hand on me without asking? Oh, it would be on! You think bitchface would be bad? (I love that word, BTW!) They'd probably get bitchhand from me as well! :)
And those jeans are kind of awesome. :)
Since I work in a Kindy I've had quite a few little kids touch my belly, but they're always really cute about it so it's hard to get cranky at them! I do try to tell them that it's nice to ask before you touch someone though - they're all just so excited that one of their "teachers" is having a baby!
DeleteHahaha, bitchhand! I love it!
Keep it up with the bitchface if it stops strangers from stroking your belly! Did I tell you that someone did that to me (not a stranger, I did know him but not very well) and I told him I wasn't pregnant? He was so mortified, and it got a huge laugh, so keep that one in reserve in case it happens to you!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans are a great colour, but hey, don't let that baby tell you what to wear! xxx
Oh my gosh, that is hilarious! I'm going to have to keep that one in reserve for when people start touching my belly, it's just too good!
DeleteI love those pink jeans - you look super cute!! Was the boho dress the one you posted on instagram? Because that looked awesome too.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was the dress I posted on Instagram! I'm sad because I love that dress, and I was sure it would make such a great maternity dress, but the little man just doesn't agree. :(
DeleteI was the same with Eddie! With Vince I managed to wear my size 9 jeans the whole way through my pregnancy! {I carry high and i had the button and fly undone but it STILL COUNTS} With Eddie the slightest tightness around my abdomen and I'd get cramps and feel ill. Maybe where baby is lying? Love those jeans though! I wish I had had a pair!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans rock! x
